Our Union brings together people from many different backgrounds and places across West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. From the bargaining table to pressing local, state, and national issues, members are standing together to make a difference. These are some of the groups within the Union – any member can get involved.
The AFRAM Caucus is the African American Caucus of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) District 1199 WV/KY/OH. Our purpose is to facilitate open and respectful communication between African American communities and the labor movement.
The Lavender Caucus is the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/ Transgender (LGBT) Caucus whose purpose is to facilitate open and respectful communication between the LGBT community and the labor movement.
Our New Wave Millennial Caucus is focused on bringing together our next generation of member leaders and activists 35 years of age and under.
The purpose of the SEIU District 1199 Veterans Council is to bring together union leaders and union members who are veterans to speak out on veterans’ issues and influence public policy to improve the quality of life for U.S. veterans and their families through access to good jobs, higher wages and access to quality health care.
Retired members of SEIU District 1199 WV/KY/OH are uniting in our union to improve the lives of working people and their families, from advocating for affordable health insurance to protecting retirement security to making a difference in local, state, and national elections.
