CLEVELAND, OHIO – The Service Employees International Union District 1199, representing nearly 30,000 members, today launched an independent expenditure advertising campaign in support of Ward 10 Councilman Jeff Johnson to be the next Mayor of the City of Cleveland.
“Neighborhoods First” is the first ad released by SEIU running on local broadcast and cable stations as well as online. You can view the ad here:
“Jeff Johnson will put Cleveland neighborhoods first by focusing on creating good-paying jobs, tackling income inequality and making the community safe again,” said Anthony Caldwell, Director of Public Affairs for SEIU District 1199. “Frank Jackson has failed the people of Cleveland for far too long and it is time we elect Jeff Johnson as Mayor to deliver the change we need.”
The SEIU District 1199 grassroots ‘justice team’ will continue to work independently of the Johnson campaign to activate, communicate and educate Cleveland voters about the real issues facing working people in the upcoming election with a focus on voter registration and empowerment.
