Mercy Regional Medical Center RN’s – Strike Alert

Lorain Nurses Mercy Health

Mercy Health Executives have notified our Arbitrator that they refuse to continue to bargain with our negotiating committee and will move forward with their plan to steal our PPO health care plan and increase out-of-pocket costs for all Nurses at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

Mercy Health Executives are making this unnecessary decision based completely on their own self-interest. Mercy Health has provided no evidence to our bargaining committee that this decision is based on financial need despite the fact that it will create significant financial burdens to every Nurse and their families.

We are awaiting official notice of impasse from the Arbitrator but we fully expect to issue a notice of our intent to strike in the very near future and you should expect that we will be on strike at Mercy Regional Medical Center in early November.

This is not a decision that we, the Nurses of the hospital, came to lightly but we will not sit back and allow Mercy Health Executives to take money out of our pockets only to put it back into their own. We are Nurses and we don’t back down from an attack. We stand together in times of crisis and challenge because we know that when we are united, we cannot be defeated. Together, We Rise!
