SEIU District 1199 Member Leaders spent two days learning advanced arbitration skills in order to better protect the Members they represent.

The training contains information about legal rights available to Union members including Family Medical Leave Act and discrimination laws, as well as arbitration standards such as the seven tests of just cause and standards of contract interpretation.

In addition, Members prepared arbitration cases based on a variety of scenarios and presented their cases to their peers.
