On July 16 the Ohio Division of Parole and Community Services hosted its annual employee recognition ceremony, which began with SEIU 1199 member Kim Robinson singing the national anthem.

SEIU District 1199 members Damian Rodriguez, Ron Olah, Jamie Rassman and Kim Hairston were honored as DPCS "Employees of the Month," and Olah received the DPCS "Employee of the Year" award.

Nominees for 2009 "Parole Officer of the Year" were SEIU 1199 members Tim Barre, Kari Blissenbach, Monica Campbell, Eric Gaumer, Kim Hairston, Michael Hein, Tanisha Long, and Joe Schwarm. Hein was awarded the "Parole Officer of the Year" award.
